Essentials in the Application Form!!!

  • the date of the medical certificate is very important, as the medical certificate must be not older than 3 months from the date of application to the driving school.

  • the doctor fills in whether the applicant for a driving licence is fit, unfit or conditionally fit. Some doctors may complete the certificate in an ambiguous way which is contrary to the regulation and the examiners might have a problem, therefore you will not be admitted to a driving school with such a document.

  • be careful to have the doctor fill in the eligibility with a condition clearly such as "lenses", "glasses", "lenses and glasses", etc.

  • e.g.: "eye correction", "eligible with condition according to 01.01 or 01.02" which are harmonised codes established by Decree No. 31/2001 Coll.

ORGANISATION OF TRAINING AND EXAMINATIONS

Tuition and training are carried out in accordance with Act No.247/2000 Coll. on the Acquisition and Improvement of Professional Competence to Drive Motor Vehicles.

Theoretical tuition takes place either in the form of a course with regular attendance at lectures or in the form of so-called distance learning according to an individual study plan, where the student prepares in the form of self-study and attends mandatory consultations with the teacher.

Subjects of theoretical tuition

  • vehicle traffic regulations

  • vehicle operation and maintenance

  • driving theory and safe driving principles

  • medical training

Practical training

The scope of practical training (curriculum) is set out in Annex 3 of Act No.247/2000 Coll.

Pupils sign up for practical training (rides) on their own, via the app.

Rides only in the morning (before 9am) or evening ( after 5pm) in one week may not all be accepted.

Subjects of practical training:

  • driving the vehicle,

  • practical vehicle maintenance

  • medical training

Admission to training and start of the course

You can start training after you have submitted a completed "Application for Driving Licence" and "Medical Certificate of Fitness to Drive" to the driving school.
Persons under 18 years of age must have their legal guardian's consent on the application.
You must also pay the course fee or a reasonable deposit before the course starts.

Course duration

The length of the course depends on a number of factors, especially the number of lessons of the type of training concerned.  The usual duration of courses for Group B is 2 - 3 months. It is possible to arrange an intensive course at the request of the student, where the training time can be significantly reduced.

Completion of the course

We will complete your training under the following conditions, as provided by law:

  • you have received tuition and training at least to the extent that you have the necessary knowledge and skills required for the test of competence to drive motor vehicles

  • however, you must complete at least the number of lessons in the curriculum for the relevant group, as set out in the Annex to the Act.

This means that taking fewer hours than the law stipulates is not allowed. On the other hand, a higher number of hours is possible in order to acquire the necessary skills, which must be individually agreed with the driving school.

Act No. 247/2000 Coll. defines the end of tuition and training in Section 30 as follows:

'The driving licence applicant's tuition and training shall be completed by the driving instructor provided that the applicant has completed the minimum number of lessons of tuition and training specified in the curriculum for the relevant group of vehicles, or a higher number of hours agreed between the applicant and the driving instructor, and has the necessary knowledge and skills required for the driving test. If the applicant insists on completing the education and training and applying for the test, although he does not have the necessary knowledge and skills as referred to in the preceding sentence, the driving instructor shall terminate the education and training at his written request; in the case of a person under 18 years of age, he shall terminate the education and training only with the written consent of his legal representative."
